General English Courses to Help Students

Over the years it has become Oxford House College’s job to help students to learn to speak English confidently, clearly and correctly to help them to achieve their goals and dreams. The reason that thousands of students come to us every year is because we are a very well known and accreditied language school that is located in one of the best city’s in the United Kingdom which of course is London. Because this language has become a world wide spoken language even in foreign countries it is ideal for people to study and understand it and this is why we are here to help.

We have a fantastic range of English language courses at Oxford House College. All of which will allow students to practice the four main language skills that there is to be able to learn to speak English. The skills include speaking, reading, writing and listening but within a lot of the courses once a student gains confidence with the main language skills then they will have the opportunity to practice their grammar and vocabulary skills.

The main focus of the general English language courses if to help students to be able to use the English language and terminology in everyday situations such as speaking to friends, going to the shops, getting on public transportation and much more. Throughout the course students will follow and study from a course book which is available to purchase from the language schools library for a minimum cost of just £19. You tutor may also use other teaching resourses including CD’s, DVD’s, Newspapers, Interactive Whiteboard and Magazines to help with the teaching. All of the additional resourses will be provide by you class teacher.

For students thata rae looking to learn to speak English and would like to enrol on this course then we will test you at the start of the course to fit you in with a class that is at the same level and ability of the English language. There are approximatly six different levels starting from A1 which is the beginner level through to C1 which is the advanced level. To complete just one level it will take students approximatly 180 hours where you will then have the option to move on to the next level.

Each student in any course will have a monthly tutorial session with your tutor will students get the oppprtunity to discuss their progress including strengths and weaknesses which will give your tutor the ability to give you any recommendtions so that students are able to pass the course and move on to the next stage as soon as possible. Every student will also take a monthly progression test which will test students on their reading, speaking , listening and writing skills.
